Hello! I hope everyone is getting in the holiday spirit and spending time with family.
Last weekend, I had a wonderful opportunity to go to Florida with my family. It was a great trip, and the weather was perfect, 70’s with sunshine! We did lots of swimming, walking on the beach, bike riding, and driving golf carts. I was very thankful to run outside in shorts and a t-shirt. I can’t wait to go back soon! Read More
Do you ever worry about your flexibility? Are your joints too stiff or too mobile? Certain sports such as ballet and gymnastics encourage flexibility, whereas other sports such as cycling tend to produce joint tightness. I hope you had a great Thanksgiving! I got to try sweet potato pie for the first time, and I have to say it tastes just like pumpkin pie. It was delicious! I was pleased with my performance since I had only run a handful of easy runs that week, and the previous two weeks were rest post-marathon. I also won an 18 pound turkey in the raffle, so we were excited about that! Read More
The past two weeks since the marathon have been all about rest. My coach prescribed two whole weeks of recovery before starting to run again. Two weeks seems like forever at first, but it honestly flew by very quickly. It has been a great time to catch up on to-do lists and explore activities we don’t always have time for. There have been lots of long dog walks, thinking about the future, cooking new meals, and painting. We went to a paint and sip class, which was really fun. Read More
Yesterday I ran the Loco Marathon in Newmarket, NH and had the best marathon of my life (so far!). We drove down to NH the day before in a terrible storm full of snow, sleet, rain, and wind. Fortunately, the weather passed through and race morning was about 40 degrees with just some light rain at the beginning. The temperatures felt quite comfortable compared to the heat and humidity from the summer. I was really confident in my training and ready to race. Read More
