Yesterday (Sunday, October 7th) I ran the New England Half Marathon. The race is point to point going from Loudon, NH to Concord, NH. It was incredibly well organized with excellent medals, hoodies, and food/entertainment at the end. The route was clearly marked with multiple water stations and a fair number of people. The weather and hills made the race challenging, but I was so happy I chose this race. My support team and I had a a wonderful time!
I started out around my goal pace, but I found it too hard to sustain after the first few miles due to the humidity and inclines. I slowed down, threw some cups of cold water over my head, and found two men who I stayed with the rest of the race and even passed before the finish! I placed 5th out of 505 women.
The BEST support team (plus my Mom!) on the left, and my new hoodie along with my medal on the right.
I would love to run a sub 1:30 half marathon, and yesterday I ran 1:33:05. My PR is a 1:31, and I know I am so close. I can’t control the weather and I am still going to do hilly races, so I will be patient and the right day will come eventually. I love running and the process of working towards goals. I am excited for many more years to come
Hope you have a great week!
